Hi !
I’m making a few changes on this blog … I guess you noticed a few. Following advices of my friend Alex, I added few icons leading to social blogging websites. I try to publish more often, like twice a week or so, and focus more on the travel part, since it was the original reason of this blog (and I already miss the opportunity to talk about many places I’ve visited). The design of the blog is changing as I’m trying to slowly make my own theme, based on somebody else’s, to start with, and perhaps from scratch in the future. I might have found a good one, I already “moded” it a bit, but it fails to display a few things. I also deleted a few pages than should have been posts, not pages (I won’t replace them though). Pages are supposed to be for content that is independent from the mainstream and timing of the blog.
Hope you’ll like it, and you’ll keep coming more and more :)

Spending the weekend in the East part of Finland, near Kitee, I took a few pictures around the summer cottage we stayed at (it belongs to my girlfriend’s uncle). Like most summer cottages in Finland, it is lost in the nature, next to a lake, with no neighbour close by. I like this one very much for the view, the silence, and especially for the old smoke sauna !
Going there takes about 400Km by car from Helsinki, but the second half is really nice, since the road often goes along local lakes, making your trip most pleasant. Kitee is located near the Russian border, and is quite a small place. It is mostly known for being the origin town of symphonic metal band Nigthwish.

For some reason that I don’t understand, most of the text of my previous post disappeared, after the “Read more” feature. I mean, you could click on it, and nothing more would come. In the database, no trace of the rest of the text either. Damn, I spent a lot of time on it !
Luckily, Google seemed to have a cached version of it, and I was able to restore the whole post.
Thanks Google !

… I didn’t give much details, so here it goes.
Taking advantage of cheap flight tickets from Tampere to Franfurt-Hahn with Ryanair, and of good deals with rental cars, we decided to spend a week visiting “South Germany and aroundâ€. We didn’t have actual well-defined plans, but we knew we’d stop on Sunday at my grand-parents, living in Alsace, since they were celebrating their 75th birthday. We thought about visiting Schwarzwald, perhaps Luxembourg (canceled, not enough time), and after the weekend, going as far as Salzburg. Looking on the Internet what we shouldn’t miss in South Germany, we realized that the famous Neuschwanstein castle was kind of on the way, so we decided to include it in our plans.
