| Today we rented a tuktuk with some friends. We first went to see some geyser at a hot spring. |
| It has a nice pond ... |
| ... with a lot of life in it |
| Second target is Buffalo Horn Hill, from where the view over Chiang Rai is said to be superb |
| Well, the place itself is nice |
| It has a nice stuppa and a temple on its top |
| ... and here is the view. |
| Hello Kitty scooter. And yes, the driver was a guy (although there was a girl with him, perhaps a sister) |
| As we had been told there would be snacks up there, we asked for food and water. There wasn't anything to buy but a lady working for the temple gave us some water and some fruits ! |
| It tastes a bit like lychee |
| And here is our 3rd target of the day: Wat Rong Khun, aka "The White Temple" |
| Although very recent, and not completely finished, it definitely made an impression on us |
| Hell is depicted outside the gate |
| Kiki and Muumi like it too |
| Nevertheless, we entered without tour guide, like everybody else |
| For the last part of our day tour, we decided to explore a bit of jungle ... |
| ... brave the bamboo bridges ... |
| ... feel small compare to nature ... |
| ... meet a big snake (not on the picture) ... |
| ... cross bamboo jungle too ... |
| ... enormous ferns ... |
| ... admire nature weirdness ... |
| ... to finally arrive at the Kun Korn Waterfall |
| Did I mention how small one can feel here ? |
| After such a day, we deserved a treat: we found Swensen's ice cream ! |
| Clock tower by night |
| The night bazaar. From there, it's a short walk to the food market. |
| Today, we go visit temples. Here is Wat Ming Meuang. |
| Clock tower by day |
| The unique mosque of the city |
| This is the temple just behind it |
| Wat Phra That Doi Chom Tong |
| Doi Thong (city pillars) |
| Wat Phra Kaew is where the Emerald Buddha was (re)discovered in 1434 |
| The first building insde this complex is Wat Pa Yiah |
| This is Hong Luang Saengkaew, located on the left of Phra Ubosot. Part of it is a museum. |
| The place has nice gardens too |
| ... and even turtles ! |
| This one has a funny head :) |
| Inside Ho Phra Yoke, behind the others |
| And here is the stuppa: Phra Chedi. |
| Back to Wat Pa Yiah, to move to the next place |
| Wat Phra Sing |
| Wat Klong Wiang, perhaps the best Lanna-style temple |
| No Killing Area |
| And back to Swensen's ! |
