Plain of Jars, site 1 |
It's interesting to notice that there are trenches, bomb craters and metal pieces around the site, since the "Secret War" of Lao. |
Nobody really knows what they were for |
The first studies concluded to these being funeral urns |
Some believe they were used to store food |
Legends say they had been made a race of giants, who wanted to celebrate a victory |
They of course needed a lot of "Lao Lao", a local rice wine (quite strong) |
Obviously these jars were used to make the drinks for the celebration :) |

Old Buddha in a near by village |

Houses are very variable, and sometimes next to each other are old wooden cabins and modern concrete villas. |

And this one faces ... |
... that one. |
