From the bus, along the way |

We first visit Jingshan park, located just North of the Forbidden City. |
From the small hill, the view over the Imperial Palace is amazing. It is so big, it doesn't fit in one picture. |
Towards the North, the view is wonderful too, over the Drum tower and Bell tower further North. |
You also get a view over close-by Beihai garden and its White Pagoda |
Entering Beihai. |

The small river is covered with lotus |

Up there is a bell that one needs to ring three times to have the gods "keep us safe" (it costs extra but we thought it was a good idea to have the gods on our side :p) |

This place is very much in the center, on our way to our hostel. It's an hospital ! |
Many hotels try to keep a more "Chinese" style, even on modern buildings. We thought it was a good idea, especially in comparison with Japan, where all modern buildings are just like American or European ones. |
