These were the gate to the sacred city of Pisac. It was the only door of the city that could be closed. Note the holes in the walls: they were used to tie up the cross shaped wooden made lock. |

Terraces at Ollantaytambo |

Through these gates, you can access the princess bath (although this might just have been a fountain) |
Accross the valley, these granaries were acting as natural fridges, due to the strong cold winds. |
View over today's Ollantaytambo city. Note that people still live in houses that were built in Inca time, which makes Ollantaytambo the last and only living Inca city. |

Another part of the town. Note the protesters on the left, and the very Spannish bull-fighting arena on the right. |
Pachamama temple in Ollantaytambo. Note the remains of the Andean cross (Chacana) on the middle wall, and the remains of statues on the right one, probably pumas. |

All the colours were found in nature, sometimes from a plant, sometimes a fruit, or a mix |

Note the tools, the drawings (indicating the place), the finition on the side (indicating who it is destined to, ie. a princess) |
Guinea pigs, shaved and ready to be cooked |

The standing lady explains that red colour can be obtained from a cactus parasite. Mixed with lemon, it gives many variation. Pure, it was also used as a lipstick, last 24H, kiss proof :) |
It almost looks like the Alps |
Chinchero ruins. Note that in this part, walls aren't perfect, it wasn't a temple or a sacred place. |
Market on the church plaza. Note the Inca walls behind. |
